Fly

The easiest way to get to the West Coast of Ireland is by plane. You can easily travel to Knock airport (officially Ireland West Airport) from Edinburgh & London Stanstead, London Luton & London Heathrow with Ryan Air.

From there you can hire a car or we will be putting on a bus collection if there is enough demand. The drive from Knock to Ballina is approx 40 minutes.

Car hire available from Knock: Hertz, Budget, Avis, Europcar.

ADVICE: Don’t book car hire through the airline – you will run into (expensive) issues with insurance on the car hire. Book the flight and then book the car hire separately, directly with the car hire company.

DRIVE & FERRY

If you really want to have your own car, or have an extended stay pre or post the wedding, driving over is also a great option. You can get a ferry over from the UK with StenaLine by going: Cairnryan (Ayrshire) to Belfast, Liverpool to Belfast or Holyhead (Wales) to Dublin.

The drive from Belfast or Dublin is about the same, 3hrs 20 minutes ish depending on traffic. Long drive but hey, you get to take in all of Ireland!

Getting to/From Belleek Castle

Belleek Castle is a short trip from Ballina, but we wouldn’t advise trying to walk it! We will be putting on a bus from Enniscrone if demand is there. Otherwise, taxis can easily be had through Ballina Taxi Group, through your hotel or through Free Now or Uber. Free Now is more commonly used in Ireland currently.
